The Van Horne Avenue clinic, which opened in 2010, includes a very qualified team. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 30 years of experience, Dr Louise Marchand also has a trusted team with whom she has worked with for many years.
After completing dental school at the Université de Montréal, Dr Marchand followed a one year internship at McGill University, where she took an interest in surgery. Subsequently, she followed a four-year specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Université Laval and at Enfant-Jésus Hospital and a subspecialty in California and France.
As a member of the Order of Dentists and a member of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialists in Quebec, she follows regular training in order to stay up-to-date. Over the years, Dr Marchand has been recognized by her peers for having developed an expertise in the surgical correction of the jaws.
Dr Louise Marchand is a pioneer in the community, being the first female oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Quebec. Since then, women have increasingly entered the surgical profession.
